Project Remix
A downloadable game
Project Remix is a 1 on 1 2d fighter that takes the core design principles that make fighting games something so great, and iterates on it with fresh system mechanics and character concepts.
PR is a hobby project I've worked on and off on for about 5 months as I've been learning the Godot engine, as well as my first attempt at game development. The first build that's up for download is the bones of what I want to build the rest of Project Remix on top of, and is very prototype-y. It sports some of the programmer art of all time, and a grand total of zero attention has been given to the presentation. Uploading this is my way of telling the world that I am indeed a game developer, and I hope you enjoy what I've done so far.

REMIX MECHANIC
Project Remix runs on the universal install system called the Remix system. Each character has a resource they manage during the match, called their "Flow". In this prototype, the proto-character's flow is increased every time they land a throw. Each Flow level increases the range of certain moves by 15% each level, with a maximum of 5 levels.
Any time a character has at least 1 level of flow, they can choose to Remix by inputting HP and HK at the same time. Depending on the character's state, they begin a lengthy windup, or engage in some defensive action (burst, guard cancel). If the Remix is successful, all Flow levels are traded for a Remix ability. In this case, for each Flow level, chip damage for affected moves is increased by 10% and block stun increases by one frame.
What's Next?
This build is obviously very proof on concept, and is the bare minimum of what I would consider playable. I will only have a little less than a month at the time of this project's posting to work on the game until I will be greatly unable to work on the game for about a year, but I hope I can release at least one more build in that time. That build will hopefully fill out some of the auxiliary mechanics that give fighting games the juice. I'm also always on the look out for artists to help (lord I need it), so if you'd like a hobby project in the game dev sphere, please reach out!

Install instructions
The game should be a simple executable, just run to play. I do recommend keeping the game in windowed though, as the UI hasn't been ironed out...
